Tiny Desk AI in 4 Steps
No editing app, no face-swap plugin. Tiny Desk AI turns one photo into a finished desk concert in four steps.
Why Use Our Tiny Desk AI Generator
Built around the real performance: the same cuts, only the lead singer replaced, sound carried through.
Recast Only Who You Want
One photo replaces the lead singer and nothing else moves. Add photos for keys, sax or backing vocals and only those seats change; the cluttered shelves stay as filmed.
True to the Cuts
The wide band shot, the laughing close-up and the sax solo land on the same frames as the template clip, so a viewer reads it as the Tiny Desk AI trend at a glance.
The Song Rides Along
Classic carries the template's sound into the result and syncs the new mouth to it. Desk Session writes its own funk groove, ready for a sound added later on.
Any Face Can Sing Lead
A dog on the chorus, an anime hero at the mic or a 3D mascot with the band: if a photo shows a clear face, Tiny Desk AI can put it behind the desk.
Up to 1080p MP4
Preview at 480p for the cheapest run, then rerender at 720p or 1080p for the version you post. Every download is a clean vertical MP4 with no watermark on top of it.
Private by Default
Your photos and finished clips stay in your own account and are never shown to anyone else. We never train AI models on them without your explicit permission.
Tiny Desk AI Ideas for Every Band
Yourself, your friends, your team, your family — see who ends up behind the desk.
You Sing Lead
The trend started with people casting themselves, and it still lands hardest there. One selfie puts you at the mic with a real band grooving behind you.
The Friends' Band
Post it in the group chat before they see it on their own feed. One photo each is enough to hand the whole desk to your crew, laugh and sax solo included.
Trio Harmony
Three faces, one chorus. A lead singer with two friends on backing vocals turns a plain group photo into a clip that gets replayed for the harmonies.
Team Night
The trend went viral as a losers' concert for football coaches. Put your own team, league or club behind the desk after a rough weekend and let the song talk.
The Office Crew
A desk concert belongs in the office. Cast five coworkers as the band and drop the clip in the company channel; it beats any slide for a Friday send-off.
Family Set
Parents on keys, cousins on backing vocals, grandma on lead. One photo per person is all it takes to turn the family into the warmest set the desk has seen.

FAQs About Tiny Desk AI
What to know before you take the mic
What is the Tiny Desk AI trend?
Tiny Desk AI is the viral remake of the ending of Charlie Wilson's 2023 NPR Tiny Desk concert, where the band plays the Gap Band hit "Outstanding". In October 2026 a fan swapped losing college football coaches into the band and the clip passed two million views in days; the AI version puts you on lead vocals instead.
How do I make a Tiny Desk AI video?
Upload one photo, pick the Classic template, choose 5, 10 or 15 seconds and hit Generate. Wan 3.0 recasts the desk performance with your subject in a few minutes and you download the MP4. No prompt, editing app or face-swap tool is needed, and the result is ready to post as it is.
Does the band change too?
Only if you want it to. The lead singer is the one required photo; keys, sax and two backing singers are optional slots. Empty slots keep the real musicians from the template clip, which is what makes the result read as the real trend. Even the cut to the sax solo lands on the same frame.
Does the video include the Outstanding sound?
The Classic template carries the audio of the template clip into the result, with the new singer lip-synced to it. Desk Session generates its own funk groove instead. Make sure you have the right to publish any music you post, or add the official sound inside TikTok or Reels.
How many credits does a Tiny Desk AI video use?
Classic costs about 5 credits per second of finished video at 480p, 10 at 720p and 20 at 1080p. At 480p a 5-second video uses 25 credits, 10 seconds 50 and 15 seconds 75, while a 10-second Desk Session clip uses 30. New users get free credits on sign-up, and credits never expire.
Can I use photos of celebrities or other people?
Only upload photos of yourself or people who have given you consent, and do not make videos that mislead or embarrass others. This tool is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by NPR, Tiny Desk or Charlie Wilson. Uploads that break these rules violate our terms of service.
